Description
The Mercedes-Benz R107 is a legendary model from the German automaker Mercedes-Benz, produced from 1971 to 1989. This model was one of Mercedes' longest-produced vehicles and was available with both a soft top and a hardtop. The design was elegant and timeless, featuring a sleek body and powerful engines ranging from six- to eight-cylinder configurations.
The R107 was beloved for its driving comfort, refinement, and reliability, and was often associated with luxury and prestige. The model succeeded the W113 and was later succeeded by the R129.
The 560 SL was the top-of-the-line variant of the R107 series and was positioned as a high-performance roadster. Equipped with a 5.6-liter V8 engine producing 227 hp and 390 Nm of torque, this model was significantly more powerful than earlier versions such as the 380 SL and 500 SL. The 560 SL offered outstanding performance, with a top speed of approximately 225 km/h and a 0-100 km/h time of around 7 seconds, which was impressive for its time.
In addition to the improved engine, the 560 SL was equipped with a more luxurious interior and numerous additional features, such as power windows, leather upholstery, and more advanced safety features. Today, the 560 SL enjoys cult status thanks to its iconic design, powerful engine, and luxurious driving experience.
This example is in very good condition and comes from an enthusiast. It includes extensive documentation, a detailed history, and a recent appraisal report estimating its value at approximately 40,000 euros.
