Description
Francesco Caraccio is an Italian painter and sculptor, trained at the Académie des Beaux-Arts in Brussels. After early years in France and later specialization in Amsterdam, he developed an expressive, figurative style with a strong focus on human figures and portraits, mostly in oils. Caraccio has worked and exhibited internationally, with exhibitions in Paris, New York, Boston, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Lissone, among others. He has won several awards, including the Joan Miró International Prize (1973) and the Oscar David di Michelangelo (1978). His oeuvre moves between expressive realism and informal painting, often characterized by powerful contours and emotional intensity.
