Description
This lot consists of a mix of Redcurrant, white currant and blackcurrant: Ribes rubrum 'Rovada' RED CURRANT, CURRANT, SPRAY BERRY, GINS. Called red currant or currant in Dutch, it is a medium-sized deciduous shrub with a bushy, upright habit and medium-green, lobed leaves. This red currant, which was introduced in 1980 by the Wageningen UR Institute, blooms in May with light green flowers grouped in clusters, it is self-pollinating and produces a lot of red edible berries on long clusters in early summer. Ribes rubrum 'rovada' likes a slightly moist neutral, well-drained soil and an airy sunny location. It is very hardy, attracts bees and butterflies, has little trouble with fungal diseases and leaf diseases but can sometimes be plagued by pests such as aphids, scale insects and sawflies.
