Marcel Henri Verdren - Geometric composition - silkscreen

Beautiful geometric vintage silkscreen - in good condition, light foxing in the white margins - As a child his parents came to live in Ostend. He trained in the architecture department at the ENSAAV (La Cambre). In his early twenties, he went to live in Paris for a while. He worked in the studio of the British graphic artist Stanley William Hayter (1901-1988), known as "Atelier 17". He collaborated on a graphic edition "Geoform 1967". He is known as a constructivist or geometric nonfigurative painter. He had a preference for working with black and white.
