Inspired by Karel Appel, D'Haese started painting when he came into contact with the art and colours of the Dutchman. Just like this famous Cobra artist who claimed to "just throw some paint on a canvas", D'Haese proclaims that he has never seen the inside of an art school; With which he emphasizes that you cannot become an artist, but that being an artist must be in you. His dream images, that's what it's all about for him, techniques and training are too limiting.
