About this lot

Christian Sommer has worked hard to acquire his painting skills. After his training as a graphic artist, he was a fashion designer for a number of years. During this time, he developed the ability to interpret and translate subjects and movements into his paintings. He found the limited depth visual language of 'beautiful fashion' far too monotonous and switched to free art. Christian Sommer considers himself a craftsman who gives new expression to subjects, avoiding personal interference. In any case, he tries to pictorially depict only the inherent qualities of subjects. Christian has been exhibiting in public for more than 15 years. He has a loyal clientele and his originals are sought after by countless art lovers (at home and abroad). CV: Born on 12/12/1941 – he was trained as a pattern maker – studied at the Offenbach art academy with Prof. Siegfried Rischar – freelance since 1989 – made study trips to Greece, Spain, India, Italy, residencies in Brazil and Cuba – exhibitions in Germany and abroad since 1991.
