Description
Rare 4-wheeler in original and driving condition. The company Noé Boyer & Cie from Suresnes in France belonged to the Société Gladiator and in 1899 started in 1899 with the production of cars, tricycles and quadricycles under the brand name Phébus. Production ended in 1903. In England, the brand name was Automobilette. At the end of 1800 and early 1900, cars and motorcycles became very popular with the wealthier population. Especially the tricycles (3-wheelers) and quadricycles (4-wheelers) were very popular. Many competitions were organized up to 1500km away. Aster was a car manufacturer in France but also a major supplier of engine blocks to other brands. These were started in the late 1890s and existed until 1910. This Quadricycle is 98% original, the front footboards, some pipes and some small parts have been replaced. The engine still has the original piston. There was no need to replace it. It probably never ran much and that also explains the condition of this quadricycle. Unique opportunity to own a true pioneer! Tricycles are rarely for sale and a quadricycle certainly not. Starts and runs perfectly.
