Arie Schippers is an idiosyncratic artist who doesn't care about prevailing fashions. He attended the Academy in Rotterdam and the Rijksacademie in Amsterdam. In 1977 he won the Prix de Rome. He has built up a high-quality and high-quality oeuvre over the past decades. His work is represented in various museums including Museum De Wieger Deurne, Museum Beelden aan Zee, Museum Henriëtte Polak Zutphen and Teyler Museum Haarlem.
